Southampton Sight : The city's largest charity helping blind and partially sighted people.

What We Do

Southampton Sight provides services, support and advice to people with sight loss.   We pride ourselves on our professional service and customer care.  All of our services are focused on the individual and enabling independence.

Our core services are:

Information, Advice & Guidance.  We are here to help, offering professional advice and assistance to support an individual’s needs.

Aids & Equipment.  With a well stocked resource centre, we can offer demonstration and sale of a wide range of items to support an individual’s daily needs from talking watches, tactile games through to software and computers.

Social Activities. A wide range of activities for all ages that provide a relaxed informal environment to meet like-minded people and have fun.

Transport.  We provide a subsidised transport service with a fully accessible minibus.

Children's Services.  We run activities for children and hold a regular Parent Support Group for parents and carers of children with sight loss.

Sight Loss Awareness Training. We can provide tailored training sessions to individuals and organisations to give people confidence in relating to and supporting individuals with sight loss.

Talking Books.  We can provide information and assessments on talking books, and provide our own free audio library service for music and books.
